A paragraph from the second book of the military science fiction trilogy I've been working on. The eye seemed to stare at Dmitri. It reflected the last moments of its owner. The bullet drilling through the air, all the little emotions: fear, sadness, pride and anger. The small little electrical messages sent from brain to nerve endings causing the fists to clench, the eyes to squeeze shut and the hairs to stand on end. The chemical adrenaline being released causing the heart to beat faster, the blood to pound in the victim's ears and the pupils to dilate.
